Style Icon: Alexa Chung

              

She has become our generation’s style muse. 

Alexa Chung has effortlessly walked the path Jane Birkin so fabulously set, emulating her cool English attitude and Parisian fashion sense. Alexa has turned herself into mogul. She has collaborated with powerhouse brands Madewell, Nail Inc., and Eyeko to create capsule collections. She has hosted numerous television programmes both in the UK as well as in the States – namely Fuse News and MTV’s It’s On with Alexa Chung. She wrote her bestselling book IT, essentially a journal collection of her thoughts, drawings, and snapshots. Alexa has been the face of Maje, Longchamp, Loreal Paris UK, and many more.

                Chung has basically become an adjective. Everything she has made popular – mini dresses, high-waisted denim hotpants, Chelsea boots with opaque tights, her ombré shag with messy centered-parted bangs, and cat eye flick – turns into being “very Alexa,” or “so Alexa.”  If you were to use it in a sentence you would say, “Oh my god! Your outfit looks so Alexa,” or, “You should get that dress. It’s very Alexa.”

                Being the street style and overall fashion icon she has become, Alexa’s not going anywhere anytime soon. Now the only real question is: If Alexa’s the new Jane, then who will be the new Alexa??
